I initially placed to orders for different colors - one for cognac, and one for honey, and would decide which to keep upon delivery. I opted to keep Honey, as cognac is a beautiful, warm, deep tone - but a little too dark for everyday, and with age it would only get darker. (Do note that they do not offer order cancellations or exchanges - only refunds on returns.)
This is the perfect tote! I love the key holder feature - so convenient, as with my other everyday bags I feel like I'm constantly digging to find my keys - now, that is a thing of the past. It also has 2 pockets, a larger one on the outside and a smaller one on the inside, for your convenience. These features really set it aside from other tote bags, and was one of the main reasons why i opted for this bag - aside from the full-grain leather.
There is a really nice variety of colors and sizes, which i got mine in large. It is honestly even bigger than I had imagined! I took out my measuring tape beforehand just to get an idea and i was still surprised. This works perfect for me, as i never been and never will be a light traveler (BFP besties unite). I probably would have done just as well with a medium, though. To give you an idea, in these pictures I've fit a planner, a journal, a book, two jumbo pencils, a prescription, toiletries/makeup, a charger, airpods, retainer case, 2 sewing tape measures, mini cardholder (in the interior pocket, which fits my phone as well) AND package of five clothing items that i need to make a return on, with ease. For scale, next to my bag I've set my 32 oz. Thermos, which could EASILY fit alongside all of the other items already in my bag.
Overall, I'm very pleased with my purchase. I have no doubt that this bag will last a lifetime.

I wholeheartedly echo the sentiments of past reviewers who bought their tote solely because of the color and those who bought an AP, Almost Perfect, bag.
The AP(Almost Perfect) small classic tote in Caribbean is absolute purse paradise!
Thi is my second AP bag and it is as lovely as my Premium bags. As others have written, I agree that I cannot find fault with my bag. The color is strikingly like my peacock Mini cb. The leather is smoother and firmer than peacock. The color Caribbean is a touch brighter than peacock with a sheen of gloss. The leather is amazingly uniform in color and smoothness. The color is richly saturated and can appear different, sometimes more blue or blue green, in various light. This color is captivating in every light. I think it would be lovely in a pebbled leather. I appreciate PLG for creating separate categories for displaying their smooth, pebbled, and buffed colors. The charts that show degrees of firmness and smoothness are so helpful, especially after you have collected a few bags for reference! I have always carried crossbody bags and generally prefer east- west bags, but the small classic tote has expanded my PLG collection! The small tote is not so deep that my items, trifold wallet, double zip, phone, keys, taco keychain, sunglasses, reusable bag, get lost, yet deep enough that I can drop items in without playing Tetris or worrying that items will fall out. The straps fit well and stay on my shoulder. The straps have softened with use. The much appreciated features of a key loop, outside and inside pockets make this tote a pleasure to carry! I have been wanting a Portland Purse for a little over a year. I finally saved enough to treat myself to a medium size tote. Since the purse was a little pricey, I was assuming it would be nicely packed. However it was delivered in a box that had a corner torn and crushed. The tissue wrapped around the purse was exposed in the damaged area. I’m surprised that the purse was not double boxed before shipment.
I do have to admit the leather smell was amazing when I unwrapped the tissue paper from the purse. However that was short lived when I saw two discoloured scratches on the front of the purse. I actually paid extra to get a perfect purse instead, I think I received an almost perfect purse. I was hoping the scratches were not noticeable but, my kids commented on the scratches without me bringing it to their attention. I’m well aware of imperfections that can be on leather but this was man made not natural.
I tried looking for a number to call but there was none and it looks like I will have to pay for shipping to return my purse. I’ve decided to just keep my purse instead of dealing with the hassle of returning for a replacement. I’m a little disappointed that Portland Leather makes the return such a complicated process. The purse is beautiful, I just flip it the backside so no one sees the two scratches. It’s a shame I didn’t receive what I paid for, which was a perfect medium size tote.

First I tried the backpack. I loved it, but not enough capacity to get me back and forth to my elementary classroom. Next, I tried the large tote with the zipper. Better, but it was a smooth leather that was too stiff for my liking despite liking the structure. It still not quite large enough so it was gifted to my daughter. Behold the oversized tote with the zipper in coldbrew. The PERFECT teacher bag! I can fit everything needed. I carry a change of clothes (puke, boogers, etc happens with the littles in the classroom!), grading, wallet, you name it- it fits! The leather is soft, which turned out to be a lot more comfortable to carry compared to the blue large tote I ordered previously. As an added bonus, the coldbrew is also a lot lighter to carry, so despite being a larger bag it also feels lighter. The bag is positively beautiful. It is cavernous so I did purchase several small goods to keep things a little more organized on the inside. I am a little over 6' tall so my frame can handle this size bag with no issue. If you are petite consider the size carefully. Unless of course if you are a teacher because I know you are lugging around half your classroom anyway so do it in style!
