Can I be honest? I think JLA is incapable of being able to disappoint. I keep waiting for the day and yet she keeps on delivering above and beyond.
I had a friend ask me, did she write a vampire book? (indicating that vampires had been overdone) and I had to pause and think for a second because this book never felt like a "vampire story" in fact it took that question for me to realise "oh yeah... I suppose there is a race of vampire like creatures in there".
This story felt anything but cheesy or overdone. It was incredibly original and intriguing throughout the entire book. The world that JLA has created keeps you thinking and guessing and paints a clear picture in your head as though you are able to watch the movie in your mind. Who needs the big screen when you have writing like this?
Poppy is an incredibly strong character who also shows the flaws and insecurities that women sometimes face. It's a pleasure to follow the journey in her mind.
I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a not to serious but intriguing book with the other world-like escape.

Very cheaply made and low quality product. The cover looks like someone took a photo of a real From Blood and Ash book with a low quality camera phone, then enlarged that photo to the point where it starts to blur, and slapped it on an extremely low quality print job book. The pages aren’t even printed straight on the pages, 1/3 of them are slanted. Fire this distributor, Walmart. Yikes.

I purchased this book since I heard that it is similar to fourth wing. I still have to read it, but I am planning on reading it along with graphic audiobook. I received a different cover than in the picture, but I thought it was a beautiful cover and I like how the font of the title is.
