I wasn't aware that the book is split into halves... Upper and lower pages. It's so super basic that it's not interesting to a one year old. And the pages being split in half are just confusing to him at this point. They should mention this and give an age that it is appropriate for. The child is meant to see the picture of the animal and then flip through the bottom half of the book and choose the correct "Home" for that animal. Not any fun for a one year old.

Great book, great illustrations. Excellent concept - split pages so your child has to move the pages around and figure out where things go and where they match. Top quality board book - extremely durable and long, long lasting. Highly recommended. :) The beautiful full colour illustrations that Eric Carle is so famous for will not let you down in this one, they are superb! Ultra cute illustrations about different animals and their various homes - to be treasured by all! :)
