Good example of not messing with success

November 30, 2024The 574 is iconic for a reason. The support of the heel system is phenomenal. The wider toe box combined with mesh upper makes for great comfort and breath-ability. The look is classic, but it is a classic because of the extreme comfort. I recently purchased a nice pair of MiUK 576's, which is essentially the same design with an even better stability and build, but the 576's didn't breath at all and were very hot and sweaty to wear. 574 sizing is consistent with my normal sneaker size. My only comment is the insole which was very poor -- simply a flat piece of foam. I purchased a pair of decent Superfeet insoles, which give this shoe an impressive fit and comfort. However, the price of having to buy insoles bumps the price up on these a good deal ($89 for shoe + $39 for insoles). I would prefer paying more for this shoe and have it come with a decent insole.
A Classic

March 30, 2024I love this shoe and it’s probably my 6th pair or 574s. I love the cushion and comfort. I love the classic look. If you have a slightly wider foot, this shoe does have a wider toe box that the unisex (gender inclusive as they call it now to appease a certain crowd) shoe does not have. That model is more narrow and not a good fit for most men. I have an average width foot but I enjoy the wiggle room. The color gray is spectacular and matches just about any outfit. The only improvement they could make on this model is a little more arch support. I find this shoe has adequate support but would like just a little more arch support and a little more heel cushion. These do have a removable insole, so adding your own for more cushion and arch support is an option. Love em!
Toe Box isn’t Wide Enough for Human Feet

July 14, 2024The toe box isn’t wide enough to support healthy foot pronation. The shoe itself is wide, but the toe box meets at a point in the middle and isn’t wide enough for a standard human foot/toes.This is the case with all New Balances. We don’t want a symmetrical toe box, we want a foot shaped toe box with metatarsal support. You’re supposedly a world class shoe distributor and you’re missing out on the future of footware. You could be the first major company that produces wide toe box shoes with built-in metatarsal support which assists in the prevention of modern foot problems. As an ex patient aid, I can tell you 99% of old people have bunions and plantar fasciitis pain limiting their mobility. A systemic change in the industry could help us all.

April 17, 2024Lovely shoe, this is my second round of these having gone for the burgundy lat time time. I previously had 880's and they were slightly longer, so I am a 10.5 in 880's and an 11 in these. Width and toe box is as expected and gives me plenty of room. I am waiting for a total hip replacement and NB were recommended to me, if anyone is in the same boat I would recommend these as they provide excellent stability and tend not to wear on the edges like other brands/soles. The shoes seems to wear internally so look great externally and its just the internal support that gets tired. NB prices seem to have gone up quite a bit compared to others in the last few years so that is the only star I would take off. Wide Fit Shoes website are my go-to place, quick delivery and better stock than New Balance.
